Welcome to Climb To A Million 2019
Your dollar could be the last dollar that we need to end childhood cancer. Right now, nearly 16,000
children in the U.S. below the age of 19 are diagnosed with cancer each year, and more than
3,200 do not survive. That's why the Lendmark Climb To A Million fundraising event was created:
to put an end to childhood cancer
During the past two years, the Climb To A Million fundraising event has raised over $873,000. In
2017, we were able to fund one-third of CURE's $1.5M commitment to launch the Precision
Medicine Program at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. When someone is diagnosed with cancer
today, they receive the same treatment as others who have the same type and stage of cancer, but
people don't respond the same to these treatments. I believe that cancer treatment shouldn't be
"one size fits all" and CURE is funding research to change that through precision medicine.
With your funds directed to the Precision Medicine Program through CURE, you are partnering
with us in taking a giant leap forward towards the future of pediatric cancer treatment. Precision
Medicine offers hope for children with cancer, in terms of improving survival rates, and lessening
the toxic effects of today's harsh treatments. This program implements genetic mapping of cancers
to help determine which treatments a child's tumor is most likely to respond to, and spares them
from receiving treatments that won't help.
